Pride for Parents Christmas Store

Loaves and Fishes Ministry operates a Pride for Parents Christmas Store that is stocked with toys from donations.

The Pride for Parents Christmas Store offers limited-income families the opportunity to shop for their children! They have pride in paying for the gifts they select & pay 25-30% off store prices. These new toys are donated by the community.

This year, St. Michael's will host a toy drive to help make sure the inventory is full! This event will take the place of our Angel Tree.

Collection will begin Nov. 6! Place UNWRAPPED items in the RED BIN in the Parish Hall by Friday, Dec. 5.

From Dec. 9-20, The Christmas Store requests volunteers to help under-resourced families select gifts for their kids. The "pop up" store is a fun experience for all Sign up to help below.

Hurricane Relief Update

Western NC Relief | November 2024

The first three pictures are from the load-in activities on Saturday morning Nov. 16. We had numerous volunteers that helped load six vehicles, including 3 pickup trucks (one with a box trailer) and three SUVs! We departed for Episcopal Church of the Epiphany at 11:30 a.m. Church of the Epiphany (in Newton, NC) serves as a resource bank receiving donations that they forward on to other Episcopal Churches in the mountains that supply and goods directly to impacted people.

Twelve volunteers drove out (two per vehicle), arriving at that church at 2:30 p.m., where we were greeted by four volunteers from Church of the Epiphany and also another nearby Episcopal Church -- Church of the Ascension, located in Hickory.

These photos show the unloading process at Church of the Epiphany.  Based on feedback received while there and the next day via text, the Diocese of Western NC is extremely grateful to St. Michael's for coordinating and delivering these much needed supplies and "looks forward to partnering with us" in future missions that may be needed for years to come.

In addition, St. Michael’s collected $7,590 in donations to the Helene Relief effort in WNC. Father Oscar Rozo, who serves as the Missioner for Latino Ministries at Church of the Epiphany is extremely grateful for our generous donations!

April Outreach: CASA's Kings Ridge

Can you help us fill King's Ridge with Love?

CASA has teamed up with our friends over at The Green Chair Project to host a household item drive for King’s Ridge! We’re collecting basic household essentials from Amazon, ranging from measuring spoons, to shower curtains, to comforters, that will help our future residents settle in to their new homes. A well-stocked home is the best, most respectful gift we can offer as these folks transition out of homelessness! To make a purchase, click on the link below. Please note: Items must be shipped to the Green Chair Project. When checking out, choose "The Green Chair Project" that will appear in the shipping address section.

About King's Ridge

King’s Ridge is CASA’s biggest, most ambitious new construction community to date. This community will have 100 1- 2- and 3- bedroom units specifically designated for individuals and families with children exiting homelessness in Wake County. We’ll have on-site medical clinics, case managers, a tenant liaison, flexible community space, and more.
