The St. Michael's Episcopal Youth Community, or EYC, is among our most vibrant parish ministries. Lead by Abby Van Noppen, our Director of Youth Ministry, and a team of adult leaders, the EYC meets regularly for youth group, bible study, fellowship, and fun events.
2017-18 Weekly Schedule
September 2017 - May 2018
5 - 6:30 p.m. — Jr EYC — 6th-8th grades
6 - 7:30 p.m. — Sr EYC — 9th-12th grades
(6 - 6:30 p.m. - Dinner for all)
7 - 8 p.m. — High School Bible Study
We meet weekly in the youth room,
5 - 6 p.m. — Middle School Bible Study
Exploring different stories in the bible and how they relate to us today.
Abby Van Noppen
Director of Youth Ministry
Abby joined our team in February 2014 after directing the Y Guides program for the YMCA of the Triangle. A lifelong Episcopalian, Abby brings her infectious energy to everything she does, and has a wealth of experience working with children and teens. She has also served as Health and Wellness director for the Chapel Hill YMCA and as assistant director of Campus Recreation for Elon University. She and her husband, Chance, have a two-year-old daughter, Maggie.

StepUp Meal Service Night

Join us for a fun night of service with StepUp Ministry! We will provide a catered meal, serve and clean up for StepUp Ministry's summer meal program. Students in rising 8-12 grades are welcome and a few parents are needed as well. We'll be serving roughly 150 people for a great night of service!

Middle School Missionpalooza
For rising 6-8 grade students

Don't miss out on this fun, summer service week for rising 6-8 grade students. This is a great introduction to Jr. EYC before the Fall Kickoff!
Serving different ministries in our own backyard, come along as we experience service in the Raleigh community. Each morning we will serve the littlest parishioners of St. Michael’s with Vacation Bible School! The afternoon's we’ll serve the greater Raleigh community helping Camden Street Learning Garden, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Urban Ministries.

Time | 8:30am to 4pm - drop off and pick up will be at St. Michael's Episcopal Church
Cost | FREE!
Things to bring | A sack lunch with a refillable water bottle will be needed each day, sunscreen for our Camden Street Garden afternoons!
Volunteers | We will need 1-2 parent volunteers each afternoon from 12-4pm. Please email Abby if you can help out!

Beat the back-to-school heat and join us for ice cream! All 6th-12th graders and parents are invited. Come find out all that Youth Ministry has to offer - EYC, bible studies, small groups, retreats and more! We'll have fun games for students and a parent info meeting. We'll also be handing out the 2017-18 youth ministry calendar!

All middle and high school students are welcome on this fun-filled weekend in the mountains! Enjoy everything that beautiful Camp Cheerio has to offer. We can't wait for all of the activities and our campfire ceremony! Fun, fellowship and growing together in our faith. It's going to be a great weekend!

Drop-off at church on Friday, Oct. 6 at 3:30pm. Expected arrival time on Sunday, is 2pm.
Cost | $175
What To Bring | One bag, sleeping bag/pillow, money for 2 fast-food meals, towel, toiletries, flip flops for shower, clothing for wet/cool-cold weather, hat/gloves, tennis shoes, flashlight!
