2026
In 2026, the Foundation again split its grant-making among three local organizations doing important work in our community. A 3-year, $30,000 pledge was made to the StepUp Ministry Rooted & Rising campaign to support the building of their new facility, which will allow them to serve even more members of the Wake/Raleigh community. A second grant in the amount of $30,000 was made to Ripe for Revival out of Rocky Mount, NC with the specification that the money go to the food delivery service they provide for Kings’ Ridge here in Raleigh. Kings’ Ridge is an affordable housing facility for homeless community members who are working to get back on their feet and the Ripe for Revival’s Mobile Market takes their mission on the road by utilizing large buses and trailers that have been transformed into pay-what-you-can retail markets. These Mobile Markets provide access to fresh and local food to areas that are considered “food deserts” while placing a strong focus on health and nutrition education, economic development, and empowerment of communities across North Carolina. The final grant made in 2025 was to Wake Relief in the amount of $30,000, which was given to support their transition to a “shop as you prefer” grocery store, which allows those with food insecurity to select a week’s worth of groceries of their choosing based on dietary restrictions or personal preferences.

2025
In 2025, the Foundation opted to make one single grant to MANNA FoodBank in the amount of $60,000 for a larger, more impactful gift in an area greatly in need. As Western North Carolina’s only food bank, MANNA FoodBank works every day to get food and resources to those in need and following the devastation of Hurricane Helene, their resources were depleted, but their need was exponentially larger. This grant funded 60% of a new community market which distributes to areas where they are lacking in resources.

2024
In 2024, the Foundation again split its grant-making between two local organizations doing important work, on very different fronts, in our community. A grant was made to Friends of Oberlin Village, an organization formed to protect the legacy of Oberlin Village, an African American reconstruction settlement established in 1866 in Raleigh, and its’ enterprising citizens. This grant was made to help fund an ambitious project to code the framework for an online, interactive gravesite register of the historic Oberlin Cemetery. A second grant was made to Now Serving, an organization which pairs restaurants, caterers, and commercial kitchens with Community Agencies to deliver healthy meals to neighbors in need. The funds from this grant will go towards supporting the kitchens providing meals to their partner agencies.

2023
In 2023, the Holy Michael Foundation split its grant-making between two very distinct but impactful efforts: one grant was given to the Diocese campaign to raise funds to build a new church home for the parishioners of St. Michael and All Angels of Charlotte; a second was given to Southlight Healthcare, a trusted provider of quality service for substance use and mental health treatment needs in the Triangle.

2022
In 2022, foundation grants supported health care initiatives for two organizations critical to helping employed, under-insured individuals and families in our area.

2021 
In 2021, the foundation awarded $50,000 to King’s Ridge, a new housing community for Raleigh’s homeless population. St. Michael’s was the first church to support this initiative. Ground has been broken! Read more about King’s Ridge in the Winter 2022 issue of Archangel.
