The Rev. David Nichols
Vicar

David joined our clergy staff in July 2022 after graduating from Duke University Divinity School. David grew up in a church family. His father was a Lutheran pastor in Pomaria, South Carolina for more than 30 years. David graduated from Clemson University, where he met his wife Maglin, also raised in the Lutheran Church. David worked as an engineer for eight years after college, as Maglin completed medical school in South Carolina and residency in Nashville.

In Nashville, they joined Christ Church Cathedral and became Episcopalians and was eventurally ordained there in June of 2022. He began his divinity degree at Duke University in 2019 as Maglin took her place on the emergency medicine faculty at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. They have three daughters.

In his free time, David loves watching baseball, reading, or finding ways to be on the water. At St. Michael's, he plans many of our adult education offerings and works closely with our staff on ministry for families and children.
