Youth Ministry

The St. Michael's Episcopal Youth Community, or EYC, is among our most vibrant parish ministries. Lead by Abby Van Noppen, our Director of Youth Ministry, and a team of adult leaders, the EYC meets regularly for youth group, bible study, fellowship, and fun events.


Schedule

September 2016 - May 2017

Sundays

5 - 6:30 p.m. — Jr EYC — 6th-8th grades
6 - 7:30  p.m.  Sr EYC — 9th-12th grades
(6 - 6:30 p.m. - Dinner for all)

Tuesdays

7 - 8 p.m. —  High School Bible Study
Join us in a Lenten study - Leading to Easter: Searching the Soul. We meet weekly in the youth room, with pizza!

Wednesdays

5 - 6 p.m.  — Middle School Bible Study
(1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month)
Exploring different stories in the bible and how they relate to us today.


Abby

Abby Van Noppen
Director of Youth Ministry

 Abby joined our team in February 2014 after directing the Y Guides program for the YMCA of the Triangle. A lifelong Episcopalian, Abby brings her infectious energy to everything she does, and has a wealth of experience working with children and teens. She has also served as Health and Wellness director for the Chapel Hill YMCA and as assistant director of Campus Recreation for Elon University. She and her husband, Chance, have a two-year-old daughter, Maggie.

This registration is good for all Youth events & trips with St. Michael’s Episcopal Church from Aug. 2016 – Aug. 2017
We must have a current form on file for your student to participate


Middle School Bible Study

Spring Semester
Jan. 4 - April 19, 2017
Payment is due by Wed., Jan. 18, 2017

The middle school bible study, for all 6th-8th grade students, is a great time for mid-week fellowship and fun! Covering different topics and stories in the bible, we'll see just how relevant they are in our lives today. From games, activities, discussions and more, we want you to join us!

Where | Youth Room, St. Michael's Episcopal Church - Raleigh, NC
When | 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month, 5-6pm
Cost | $35 each semester, helps cover cost of food.
Payment (cash or check) is due by Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017.

For all 9th-12th grade students. Join us in a Lenten study series - Leading to Easter: Searching the Soul. This study will follow along with Jesus' journey through Lent, Holy Week and Easter.

High School Bible Study

Spring Semester
Jan. 5 - April 25, 2017

No Registration Required


A long-standing St. Michael’s tradition is the high school summer mission trip, for rising 9-12 grades. Come along as we serve families in need through significant home repairs. This year’s Reach Mission Trip will be in Stanton, Kentucky from June 25 - July 2, 2017.

We can promise a great week, amazing friendships and an unforgettable experience!

Where | Stanton, Kentucky
Cost | $410 – Students will also need spending money for five meals on the road, our Wednesday Wal-Mart/Goodwill trip (around $100-125).

Eligibility Requirements & Forms Needed

All payments must be made on or before April 1, 2017. Individual cancellations made on or before April 1, will receive a refund minus a $50 deposit. Due to the nature of this trip, there are no refunds after April 1, 2017.

High School Mission Trip

Don’t miss this laid back, beach front weekend! It’s a great time to hang out, connect with God and recharge.

Where: Atlantic Beach, NC (beach-front house)
Cost | $50 - students will need money for two fast-food stops.
Things to bring: one overnight bag/person, sleeping bag, pillow, towel/toiletries, etc.
