Opportunities abound to help within our community and in others this fall. It’s as easy a picking up a package of diapers at the store, or as involved as providing hurricane relief support to those in the Lumberton area. Take a look!
• September Collection: The Diaper Train
We are collecting size 5 diapers, pull-ups and baby wipes.Please place your donations in the Parish Hall bins by Sept. 30.
• Yam Jam: Saturday, Oct. 5
Join a St. Michael’s team to glean sweet potatoes at First Fruits Farm in Franklin County. Volunteers of all ages, including families, are welcome. Wear what you would wear for a morning of dirty yard work (work boots or old tennis shoes, clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, hats and sunscreen). Bring water and work gloves. We will meet for breakfast somewhere near the church, time and place TBD. Please contact Anna McLamb to sign up.
• Hurricane Relief Day of Service: Saturday, Oct. 5
Volunteers are needed to provide labor to families still suffering from housing needs in the wakeof Hurricane Florence. We will gather at 6:30 a.m. on October 5, at St. Michael’s and travel to the Lumberton area. Construction skills are not needed.
